His funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Gering Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wayne Mundell officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Siegfried was born April 20, 1924 in Gϋtersloh, Germany to Gottlieb and Meta (Shumacher) Dickof.
He married Erika Weiss on January 28, 1947 at Gϋtersloh, Germany and made their home in Scottsbluff and Gering, Nebraska. Following their marriage in Germany, Siegfried and Erika, along with their first-born Barbara, immigrated to the U.S. in 1952. Following Siegfried's employment by a sponsor in North Dakota as a farmer, and the birth of their second daughter Marilyn, Siegfried and his family moved to Gering, NE. Siegfried worked as a farmer east of Gering until 1954 more or less and then moved his family to Scottsbluff. Siegfried worked as a meat cutter in Scottsbluff until his retirement. While in Scottsbluff Siegfried and Erika became U.S. citizens in 1957. After he had retired, Siegfried and Erika again moved to Gering in 1987, where they remained until Erika's passing in 2007, and his on November sixteenth.
Survivors include daughter Barbara (Dickof) Berry and son-in-law Chuck Berry of Castle Rock, Colorado; granddaughter Erika (Berry) Burnell and great grandson Charlie Burnell; sisters Erika and Ursela and brother Dieter along with nephews and nieces in Europe.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erika K Dickof and his daughter Marilyn Dickof.
