Lois Elaine Neeley

At her request, there will be no public funeral, however a family graveside service will be held at a later date at the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering, Nebraska. Lois was born December 26th, 1932, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was the fourth of five children born to Joseph Robert and Sarah Helen (Cronin) Neeley.

She was raised on a farm northeast of Scottsbluff and attended grade school at District 10 and Longfellow. In 1950 she graduated from Scottsbluff High School. She attended Scottsbluff Jr. College (now Western Nebraska Community College) until December 1951 when she started her first job as a bookkeeper with Securities Credit Corp. In 1957 she worked for the Cook Company before moving to Portland, Oregon in September 1959 where she continued working as a bookkeeper for Mack Trucks. She later transferred to Eugene, Oregon as an office manager in July 1977. In 1986 she worked for Phillips Electric until her retirement in 1994.

In 2005 she moved back to Scottsbluff to be closer to her family. Lois was an avid gardener and loved reading books. In September of 2016, she moved to the Mitchell Care Center where she made many friends.

Lois is survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert (Bob) Neeley and sister-in-law Elaine (Neal) Neeley of Alliance, Nebraska, brother William (Bill) Neeley and sister-in-law Ruby (Hrasky) Neeley of Milwaukie, Oregon, and sister Alta Jo and brother-in-law Dale Williamson of Scottsbluff, and sister Wilma and brother-in-law Jerry Wegelin of Gering, Nebraska, and nephew Brian Neeley of Milwaukie, Oregon.
