Mr. Halford is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eva Nell Halford; son, Jerry LaDon Halford; daughters, Pamela Joy (Jesse) Kilpatrick and Inez (Jimmy) Booker; grandchildren, Chan (Allison) Lowe, Hollie (Matthew) Colburn, Marissa (Zach) Bryan, Kara Halford (Peyton McCraney) , Josh Thrower and Kristy Blanco, great grandchildren, Ellie Rae Lowe, Willa Grace McCraney, Griffin and Luis Blanco; brothers, Billy Joe (Debra) Halford, Donnie (Leslie) Halford, Dwight (Connie) Halford; sister, Jeanette Gorum; sisters-in-law, Versa (Clifford) Higdon and Vera Mae (Foy) Calhoun; aunt, Verlie Stuckey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Halford was preceded in death by his son, Wilton Eugene Halford; parents, Connie and Bertha Mae Halford; brother, John Henry Halford and sister, Geraldine Lee.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. at McKenzie Baptist Church, McKenzie, Alabama. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery, McKenzie, Alabama, with Johnson Funeral Home, Georgiana, Alabama directing arrangements.
Pallbearers are Donnie Halford, Matt Colburn, Tony Walden, Mike Stuckey, Jason Stuckey and Jeff Savage.
Mr. Halford was a deacon at McKenzie Baptist Church in McKenzie, Alabama for 19 years.
