William Anthony Lane

William “Bill” Anthony Lane; a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, at the age of 83 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, June; his son Chris and his wife Cheryl; his daughter Cathy, and his daughter Carrie and her husband Hunter. “PawPaw” was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and their spouses (Brendon, Lauren and her husband Christian, Brett, Austin and his wife Haley, Zach, Nicki, Claire, Hailey and her husband Zane and Hannah. He was also a great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Layla.

Bill left home to serve in the United States Marine Corps in 1960 at the age of 17 and participated in the Bay of Pigs operation in Cuba in 1961. Upon returning from service in the armed forces, he met June at an apartment complex in Houston, Texas. According to June, “When I saw Bill talking to the manager, I said “Oh my gosh, he is trying to get cheaper rent…and he was!” They officially met days later at the pool, and their whirlwind romance began. Three months from the day they met, they were married at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in downtown Houston. Bill always called her “his Honey,” and said he loved her above all else.

He cherished his three children, Chris, Cathy and Carrie. He was a great father who taught the importance of faith, hard work and integrity through example. He was so proud of all his children and never missed an opportunity to brag about them to others. He considered himself very blessed to have such a large wonderful loving family. Bill made sure he never missed the opportunity to say he loved you and give you a big warm hug and a kiss on the cheek.

In 1975, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit and founded Aaron's Picture Framing, a business that he genuinely loved. He was self-taught and quickly became a respected expert in his craft. He was a cornerstone of the Humble community for 44 years.

He cherished spending time with his family, enjoyed the company of his friends, and had a passion for fishing, finding joy and peace anywhere he could cast a line.

Driven by his faith in Jesus Christ, Bill was a man who loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. His legacy of faith, which he invested in his family, allowed him to love, persevere, and share his joy with others. He never met a stranger; his infectious smile will live on forever. His life and legacy will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
