Lawrence Aaron Tyler, 91, went to be with his heavenly family on February 16, 2015, just one day shy of his 92nd birthday. He was born February 17, 1923 to Albert and Jetty Tyler in the Florence Community outside Lexington, Texas. A long-time Georgetown resident, Lawrence worked for both Draeger Motor Company and Compton Motors before opening his own business, Tyler Trucking.
Lawrence was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corp, now known as The Air Force. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he loved to share his catch with family and friends at his fish-fry get togethers. Besides hunting and fishing, he loved to dance. Dancing was the way he met the love of his life, Doris Terry.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Terry Tyler; one sister, Lois Bounds; sons, Ronnie, Dennis, and Douglas; daughters and sons-in-law, Sona and Bert Holmstrom, Desiree and David McKinney; grandchildren, Nolan and Tiffany Pressler, Amy and Tom Wood, Grant and Ami Almquist, Erin and Robert Barnes and Darrell and Livia McDonald. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Avery, Aaron, and Abby Wood, Jaiden Martinez, David and Matthew Pressler, Gavin, Nathan, and Carli Almquist, and Dylan and Dorianne McDonald.
Lawrence was predeceased by his mother, father, three brothers, and twelve sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 20, 2015, at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Interment was at Adina Cemetery outside Lexington, Texas.
