Janice was born November 22, 1949, in Buffalo, NY and grew up in the small farm town of Eden, NY. She was the third oldest of eight children and often laughed about the struggles of farm life but more notably, having to share one bathroom in the house. As a kid, her lifelong adoration for horses began and even though she didn’t own one, it never stopped her from attempting to ride the family cows.
As a young adult, Janice made her way to Austin, TX and began working for Texas Instruments. Soon thereafter, she met the love of her life, Ron, and were joined in holy matrimony in July 1986. They lovingly raised their two children, Travis and Trish. Janice was the quintessential soccer mom, minivan and all, never missing a single game.
As a woman of faith, her love for Jesus was unwavering. Through him, she devoted her life to serving others. She was a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol, assisting in search and rescue missions. She spent weekends feeding the homeless in downtown Austin and volunteered for numerous organizations through her church. One of her favorite’s being, Community of Care, an outreach program to bring communion and companionship to elderly or disabled patrons unable to attend church.
Janice retired in January 2019 and embarked on a new chapter in her life filled with travel. She and Ron loved cruising and made as many memories as they could before a condition known as, Primary Progressive Aphasia, took hold. Janice was cared for dearly by her husband, as evident in her final words to him, “I love you”.
Janice is survived by her spouse and soulmate, Ron Johnson; her son and daughter-in-love, Travis and Alexis Johnson; her daughter and son-in-love, Trish and Brendan Wiley and her seven beautiful grandchildren, Kaylen, Sophie, Emma, Liam, Harper, Ava, and Ian. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and loved ones. Janice was predeceased in death by her parents, Irene and Walter Dzubella, and her sister, Joan Stewart.
