Elsie was born on October 6, 1918 in Florence, Texas, to Jasper and Minnie Knight. Family was the center of her heart. In 1959 Elsie married the love of her life, Doc Walker. Their devoted marriage continues to serve as an inspiration for their children and grandchildren. Elsie created a loving home for her family and one of her greatest joys was fulfilling her duties as Ma-maw for 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Elsie joined the Florence United Methodist Church in 1944 where she served in many capacities. Holding membership for 69 years, she became one of the longest standing members of the congregation. She was a caretaker for her family and community but her greatest passion was serving her Lord. Her kindness and loving spirit blessed everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. Elsie enjoyed baking and sewing for her family and as an avid problem solver, she loved working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Doc Walker; daughter, Rhonda Teague and eleven brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her sister, Lorraine Davis, of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Dena Buchanan and husband, Joe, of Florence, Texas; daughter, Donna Stone of Florence, Texas; daughter, Jane Rosenbusch and husband, Bobby, of Florence, Texas; grandchildren: Pam Buchanan of Round Rock, Texas; Audra Taylor and husband, Jerry, of Lampasas, Texas; Brian Williams and wife, Donica, of Georgetown, Texas; Deanna Bieren and husband, Mike, of Florence, Texas; Jeff Stone and wife, Darla, of Florence, Texas; Jennifer Laursen and husband, Chris, of Stephenville, Texas; Melissa Loerwald and husband, Lance, of Florence, Texas; Mark Rosenbusch and wife, Andrea, of Burnet, Texas; great-grandchildren: Zhenya, Dasha, Brandon, Brady, Kelsie, Chad, Chelsea, Walker, Lainey, Layton, Laysie, Christopher, Caleb, Cameron, Mikaela, Landon, Ryley, Lilly, and Mason.
