Eloiza “Lois” Ramos, 67, was called to heaven on July 27, 2016 in Georgetown, Texas. Her parents, Leonardo B. Miranda and Angelita R. Miranda were native Texans who instilled the value of hard work in their children.
Lois Ramos was born and raised in Liberty Hill, Texas. As a young girl she enjoyed the outdoors and could always be found riding her horse or working on the family farm with her siblings. She graduated from Liberty Hill High School. Lois met Genaro Ramos Jr. during a football game in Georgetown. He was best friends with her cousin and the pair quickly became inseparable. They were married soon after and began a family of their own. Her teaching career began in Liberty Hill and it was during this time that she discovered her love of teaching others. Later this love would lead her to her 30+ year career as an instructional aide for the Georgetown Independent School District. She had a gift for teaching that can only be described as “magical”, she knew exactly what her students needed and how to get them there. She understood that her students could not learn if they did not feel loved and therefore she made sure to show them just how much she loved them every single day. Also throughout her teaching career she was a strong advocate for educating parents in the community. Many times, she would be seen making long treks through rural areas in Georgetown to make home visits.
Lois loved her family and many friends. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and her prayer groups. She was known for her powerful connection to God and the power of her prayers. She was known for being a caring, giving and loving friend and she will always be remembered for her selfless support of others. Lois was also well known for her passion for making tamales with her family, this was a very special tradition particularly during the holidays. She also delighted in spending countless hours in the company of her grandchildren. And one of her most recent simple pleasures included spending something she called “Sister Days” with her sister Mary.
Lois is survived by her husband of many years Genaro Ramos Jr. and their children. Her family includes her daughters, Melissa A. Gonsalez and husband Joe F. Gonsalez, Rosalinda Ramos, Angelica Ramos (Stanley David Johnson Jr.), Vanessa Ramos; her only son, Ruben Ramos and his wife April Ramos;her grandchildren, Trey Allen Johnson, Kaydence Marie Johnson, Stanley David Johnson Jr., Richard Genaro Gonsalez, Jonathan Luke Gonsalez, Nadia Gonsalez, Dalyssa Gonsalez, Joe Gonsalez Jr., Mariah Kayliegh Ramos, Alexis Nicole Ramos, Isaiah Lee Ramos, Ruben Zadquiel Ramos Jr., Yahaira E.
