Donald Haycraft Bunnell

He was born on February 20, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Carl and Estelle Bunnell. Don served in the U.S. Marines Corp and the U.S. Army retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He worked in Austin as the manager of the Texas State Board of Insurance for many years. He was a member of Tarrytown United Methodist Church and Sun City Community Church, also a 32 degree mason, member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Knights Templar.

He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Joyce Bunnell; his brothers, Carl Outhier Bunnell and James Leighton Bunnell; and his nephew, William James Bunnell.

He is survived by his son, Don Bunnell II; granddaughters, Heather Fondy and husband Chris, and Hailey Bunnell; great-granddaughters, Hailey, Avery, Olivia, and Ella Fondy; sister, Frances Anne Hargens; nieces, Sarah Bunnell, Anne Hargens, Linda Biggs, Nadine Brannin, and Eileen Ramsey; and nephews, James, Carl, Jr., and Thomas Bunnell.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at The Worship Place in Georgetown, Texas with Pastor Kelly Barnett officiating.
