Betty Anne Heard Hudson

Betty Anne Heard Hudson, age 81, passed away peacefully at Christopher House in Austin, Texas on Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was born in Georgetown, Texas on June 23, 1931 to Lillian Johnson Heard and John William Heard. She moved from Georgetown at the age of eleven to Austin where she graduated from Austin High and attended the University of Texas. In 1951 she married Jack D. Hudson, Jr. and together they moved to Houston and raised their family. Betty returned to Georgetown in 2002 after her husband’s death and resided in Sun City, Georgetown.

Betty enjoyed tennis, reading, bridge, gardening, and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, serving as a Deacon. She was a Bible Study Fellowship leader for many years. Later in life she volunteered with Hospice Austin, Georgetown Animal Shelter and served on the Board of Directors for The Georgetown Library.

Betty was preceded death by her husband and is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Hudson Sherwood, her husband Taylor and granddaughter Alexandra of Austin and son Jack William Hudson and granddaughter Lillian of Sugarland.

Graveside services will be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 3rd of January 2013, at Klein Memorial Park, 32539 Texas 249, Pinehurst, Texas 77362. A Memorial Service will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 5th of January 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown with The Reverend Dr. Michael A. Roberts officiating
