Vonda (Johnson) King, 54, passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Vonda was family oriented; a dedicated mother to her children. The family will fondly remember their 4th of July trips to the beach and trips to the North Carolina Mountains. She enjoyed visiting Cherokee and white water rafting. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.
Vonda is the daughter of the late Paul and Margret McCoig.
Vonda met her husband when she was still in high school. They have been married for 31 years. She leaves behind her husband Barry King, son Christopher King and fiancée Heather, son Jesse King and girlfriend Kayla, son Kevin “Boo” King, and daughter Michelle King and boyfriend Tucker.
A celebration of Vonda’s life will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday June 1, 2019 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. Reverend Robert Baker will offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends who gather to remember Vonda.
