Michele (Shellie) Lynn Williamson, 47 of Gastonia, NC and formerly of North Boston, OH is the Daughter of Richard and Patricia Clark. She loved her Mammaw (Essie Swift) who has already passed on. Shellie was a Beloved wife that was nicknamed “Beautiful” by her husband. Her close friends and family called her “Shellie.” She was an amazing and dedicated Mommy to Everlee and Ethan... and a bonus mom to Summit and Jax.
Shellie was a talented decorator, artist, singer, musician, seamstress, Sunday School Teacher, youth leader, song leader, choir director, puppet ministry leader just to name a few of her many talents .She could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She loved a Big Moe and Coke from Jim Dandy’s Restaurant every trip to Ohio. She loved to shop, thrift, craft, create, and bake. Shellie could take trash and make something beautiful. She was a lover of any type of primitive home décor and collector of Pine trees and pinecones. She also loved Tiger and water Lilies, huge Sunflowers, burlap and plaid. Her favorite time of year was fall and Christmas. Shellie graduated from Shawnee State University with an Associate’s degree in Medical Office with High Honors.
Shellie loved her family and spending time at the holidays at the family get-togethers. She was a great daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and most importantly, a blessed mother. Shellie loved Good Christian Music and Singing. Shellie knew her calling was to sing for Jesus. She always said Jesus gave her a talent to sing and if she did not use it, He would take it away from her. She loved to attend church services. She was a Godly, holy example to Everlee and Ethan. Shellie’s desire was to dress our children with the best. To make Everlee beautiful and modest, fixing her hair up in apostolic fashion. To dress Ethan in little suits and slick his hair back, and to totally ensure that they were up to her expectations of what she felt Jesus would want. This was her desire from day one. Shellie could cutout and sew a skirt from a piece of material with a matching headband in a few moments, just before leaving for church, or sew Ethan a pair of pants to fit him. She was such an amazing seamstress, believing that was one of her God given talents. Nothing was too much or too hard to accomplish for them. Shellie believed that once at church it was a must to be singing with all she had and praising Jesus. Shellie would be standing, clapping and raising her hands, running or dancing in the aisle. She loved to pray with people who would come to the altar to pray and would rejoice with them whenever Jesus would move. Shellie loved to worship her Jesus.
Shellie lived her life to please Jesus. She prayed every day and read her Bible Faithfully. She was a genuine lady who was always cheerful and smiling. She believed in dressing in modestly and holy according to the Bible. She believed in not wearing makeup or any cosmetics because the Bible said not to. She called her long beautiful uncut her hair her glory and authority with Jesus because the Bible said it was. She prayed often that it would grow even longer and thicker. Shellie immediately lit up any room she entered by the brightness that she exuded from Jesus being on the inside. Shellie received the gift of the Holy Ghost, just as the Bible says in Acts 2:38 and spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance and was baptized in the only name under heaven that could wash away her sins, the Name of Jesus, at age 11, at Mount Zion Apostolic Church in Portsmouth, OH. Shellie would tell you emphatically that Acts 2:38 is the only plan of Salvation that is given in the Bible. Shellie was a joy to be with and always tried to be a blessing to those she met. No matter the conversation, she always found a gentle way to share her love and devotion to Jesus. Shellie was a true lover of souls. Her desire was to let those she came in contact with to see Jesus. She would gladly share her experience with them. If you would have more than a few minutes conversation, you would be invited to church. She carried church cards from Queen City Apostolic Church wherever she went.
In 2016, Shellie moved to North Carolina. In 2018, she married her husband, Phillip. Shortly after getting married, Phillip and Shellie started down the pathway of becoming parents. You see, Shellie’s lifelong dream was to be a mother, but for whatever reason, that dream had not been fulfilled. After three miscarriages, Shellie and Phillip started down the road of Foster Care. They fasted and prayed that the good Lord would shine down on a placement that would be permanent. On November 14th, 2019, they received a call. A beautiful little girl needed someone to care for her. It was love at first sight. Phillip and Shellie began raising Everlee as if she was their on flesh and blood. Everlee was spoiled right from the start. Then on May 27th, 2021, another call was received. Everlee had a biological brother that was in need of someone to care for him. Shellie and Phillip excitedly accepted this new blessing of a baby boy into their family. After three years of loving and caring for these two beautiful babies as if they were their own flesh and blood, on November 17th, 2023, Shellie and Phillip adopted Everlee and Ethan, finally fulfilling Shellie’s dream of being a Mother. She could now proudly say she was a Mom. On May 14th, 2023, Shellie got to celebrate her first official “Mother’s Day”. Shellie filled her role of “mother” with excellence. She could be found most evenings sitting in her Mammaw’s rocking chair singing to Everlee and Ethan. Shellie and Phillip had prayer with them and then Shellie would recite scriptures with Everlee and Ethan, then sing with them until they fell asleep. At 2 years old, Ethan, and Everlee, at four, can quote Acts 2:38 and Deuteronomy 6:4, as well as several other scriptures. Shellie kept Christian music or archived church services always playing in the house. Everlee and Ethan can often be seen standing on the fireplace hearth singing and having church. Shellie was a true, God fearing, God loving Christian woman that this world will truly miss.
