Such a Great teacher, she taught my son Matthew.  Mrs. Hamrick was a mentor to my niece Tonya who loved her so much. So sorry for your loss.  She will never be forgotten.

My loving sister, you will be missed for sure. I will cherish the time we had together in this ole crazy world we all live in. I will miss the conversations we would have and the overall support we would provide to each other. 
I have comfort knowing you are in a better place and no longer dealing with this worldly ailments. I am confident we will see each other again one day.

The thing that I remember most about Gale is that she always had a smile on her face.  Gale was such a wonderful and caring teacher and a committed, dedicated, and professional educator.  She was supportive of her students and fellow teachers and was always open to opportunities that benefitted them both in and out of the classroom.  For example, she was one of the first teachers to challenge herself to add a technology component into her classroom lessons when technology was first being implemented in the schools.  It has been about twenty years since I first met Gale, but I have to say that I am truly blessed to have known her as her principal at Bessemer City Central for six years.  She will be greatly missed but she has definitely left a legacy of love and knowledge in the students and teachers whose lives she touched. 

Cari, my heart is broken for you.  I truly loved and enjoyed working with your Mom for seven short years.  She was always so full of life and her joy of teaching was reflected in the children she taught.  Those are precious memories for me and you and your family remain in my thoughts snd prayers as you go through this difficult time of adjustment.

Ms. Hamrick, my third grade teacher, I loved her.  I learned so much from her.  She was so loving.  Her classroom felt huge yet she always knew how to keep you from feeling small and lost in it.  She taught me how to write in cursive.  I got my first crush in her class.  I can still remember our Valentine folders that we made.  I remember her class being so full of cheese from a fundraiser that I didn’t think it would hold another box.  She was so patient and kind, beautiful inside and out.  And she always talked about my skin, she said I would grow up and be in ivory soap commercials.
RIP Ms. Hamrick, I hope you had just an inkling on the many lives you impacted.  I don’t remember all my teachers, but I’ll always remember you! 

It’s true, people don’t always remember what you did or said, but how you made them feel.  I pray my son is blessed to have a teacher like you someday 🙏🏻

Gale was a wonderful friend! We had so much in common ... enjoyment of teaching children, same short hair style, love for our children, and  a strong Christian faith. Gale will be terribly missed. 
We will continue to pray for this special family. 


Gale was such a caring teacher they don’t make them any better.  She loved her students. She taught my daughter and she was her favorite teacher. She even went home with Gale at times.

Mrs. Hamrick was the best teacher in the world! My third grade teacher, who I absolutely thought the world of. She was such a kind and caring soul. I will be praying for her family. She will truly be missed. She was such a special person.

She was such a great teacher. She took me under her wing and gave me all the love and support a teacher could give. She has always been my favorite teacher and she will be missed by me and many other students. RIP Mrs. Hamrick.

I have a special place in my heart for Gale "Mrs. Hamrick".  She was my third grade teacher and over the years she has always kept in touch and checked to make sure I was doing ok. I will always cherish my text messages on my birthday and the first day of school. She loved to remind me that she was retired and was watching the school bus go by from her porch. Cari, you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. She was so proud of you. You had a wonderful mother and I am sure you know that! 

Thoughts and Prayers go out to Carrie and the family.  I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mrs. Hamrick at Bessemer City Central Elementary for over 20 years.  She was an inspiration to all that worked along side of her and a great mentor to her students. She will be deeply missed!

For 20+ years Gale and I were coworkers and very close friends. We shared many good times and I have many precious memories. She wii be missed by all but I know she is with our Heavenly Father and I will see her again one day. To  Cari and family sending my love. Janet Jones

Cari, I am sincerely sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. I know you are devastated.  Hope it helps in some small way to know that others care. My prayers are for you and all the family.

There are two words that come to mind when I think of Gale “vibrant angel”.  Gale was like a mother to me and a Gigi to my children.  She was a significant part of shaping me into a teacher.  She taught me to be strict but to show love at the same time.   I will forever cherish the memories especially going to Christian singings and retreats with her.  Rest In Peace Gigi. 💜
