John was a wonderful man and friend.  He was a pleasure to work with here at Sea Trail.  Having lived here 32 years we had many conversations - if only hello.  He will be missed by many.  RIP John  Louise Sensenig

What a joy it has been to share these last 20 years with John as a friend and neighbor.
One of our best memories was discovering our shared history from Gaston County.  Talking about Ashley High School and what it was like growing up there in the 1960's.
John always had a smile for us or a big wave if we passed each other on the road.
A life well lived, shared with family and friends is to be celebrated and we do. 
Our hope for Rick and the family is that their memories will provide some comfort and strength for the days ahead.

There are no words for the loss we feel as a family. John was our WWJD (What would John do)! His gift of making everything around him more beautiful and the kindness he showed to everyone will forever be what makes me smile when I remember him. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. I've learned so much from John growing up and I will cherish all of our memories for the rest of my life. Until we meet again....I love you more, John.

John was a sharp card player,  we would never know what he was going to do.  I had such a good time spending time playing games, and just spending time with him.  Thanks brother for all the good times.   Love you John

I worked with John for over 20 years at Sea Trail. We had some great times together. I scroll through my old photos sometimes and still laugh at this picture. This was during the "great" solar eclipse of 2017. John and I got our silly paper eclipse glasses and stood outside of the convention center at Sea Trail for what seemed like forever. We looked every which way possible and still never saw anything! We laughed at ourselves and finally got back to work.  John will surely be missed. My prayers go out to Rick and the entire family.

John was a consummate professional. He was AMAZING at his profession.  We were certainly blessed to have him on our Sea Trail team.  Kind, unflappable, admired, respected, sought after, etc. He was truly a meeting planners dream!    I enjoyed the many years we worked together, as did the entire staff.  He will always have a place in our hearts. Sending love to Rick, John’s family and friends and know many are thinking of you during this difficult time.

John was my good friend for close to 50 years.  I have never met a kinder soul. He brought joy and beauty to this world. He taught me so much about living life and enjoying the moment. He was the guy who did not save the candles and used the best china everyday. He didn't save the wine for a special time. He embraced life in the now. I am so glad he did. John loved his dogs, everyone of them. He loved his family so much and showed them in so many ways, he will be most missed at Christmas. John loved loved Rick for 44 years. We will all miss him so much. John I will see you again.  RIP my dear friend forever.

John was more than just a dear friend and neighbor, we looked at him as family, a gentle, caring man who helped two elderly people in so many ways we can't count them.  We will miss John at our house  and not sharing the good times with him and Rick at holiday dinners and candy-making in the kitchen.  We will always remember John as a true friend.  We won't forget him but we will greatly miss him.

John was a beautiful soul. He was so kind hearted and loving. I'll always remember his smile. No one made him happier than Ricky and their babies. Rest easy.
