Jeff was born on September 2, 1967 to Jim and Margie Ross in Akron, Ohio. After Jeff graduated from Ellet High School, Akron, Ohio in 1985, he then went on to receive a BS/BA Degree from The Ohio State University.
After graduating with a degree in Finance, he then received his CPA designation, he started his first job at Hausser and Taylor, LLC and then he went on to work for the C.A. Short Company where he was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer at the time of his passing.
In 1998, Jeff met his wife, Melodi and they were married in 1999 and celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in September of this year. They had at the time of Jeff’s passing 3 dogs which are their children, Eddie, Zeke and Rocky. All named after his love of sports.
Jeff loved sports more than anyone. His favorite teams were the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He loved the Browns so much he even had season tickets to the games even though he lived in North Carolina. His passion was coaching baseball with the kids from the Carolina Metro Reds organization. He served on the Board of the Carolina Metro Reds organization.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Melodi, parents Jim and Margie Ross, Father and Mother-in-law Keith and Dianne Hatcher, Brother and Sister-in-law, Mike and Marcy Ross, Sister and Brother-in-law, Stacey and Kevin Stanich, Brother-in-Law Cameron Hatcher nieces, Hannah Stanich, Sidney Ross and Addison Hatcher and nephews, Tyler Ross, Kyle Stanich, Connor Stanich and Ryan Hatcher and many Aunts and Uncles and Cousins and so many friends that loved him especially his best friend from childhood until now Mark Fisher.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tuckaseegee Dream Fields, 7531 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC 28214 (located directly across the street from West Mecklenburg High School, on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Carolina Metro Reds c/o Morris Madden, 3303 Valerie Drive, Charlotte, NC 28216 or via www.metroreds.com, an organization Jeff felt strongly about. In honor of Jeff would request that anyone who would like to can wear team apparel or colors from the teams he loved.
An Ohio Service at The Chapel in Green, East End Door D, 1800 Raber Road, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Calling hours at 1 p.m., Service at 2 p.m. with reception to follow.
