Gayle graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Gaston College and worked in Insurance Billing with Aetna. She enjoyed teaching art, watching old movies and gardening. Gayle had a passion for animals and rescued several dogs throughout her life. They were more than pets to her, they were her best friends. She also had a family that she loved dearly.
She is survived by her sister, Melinda Burnette; brother, David Hayes and wife Tammie; nephews and nieces, Jeff Pack, Chris Hayes, Daniel Campbell, Haley Marie, Keith Dawkins and Tiffany Morgan and six precious dogs.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her brother, Frank Hayes.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
