Betty Ann Faulkner Moss, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Springs of Catawba Assisted Living Facility in Hickory, NC. A native of Oxford, NC, she is the daughter of the late Neva Jane Wilkerson and the late Albert Elmore Faulkner.
Betty graduated from Ashley High School of Gastonia, NC in 1964. She also attended Gaston College from 1975-1976, 1996 and 2003. Betty worked in local and state government for Pathways and retired from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. She was a faithful member at Flint Groves Baptist Church and had a strong faith in God.
Betty was married to the late Danny Michael Moss Sr. on April 30, 1966, and was happily married for 43 years.
She was devoted to her family, her church family and friends. Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, caring for her cats, walking, gardening, sewing, scrapbooking, writing poetry, shopping, birdwatching, cooking, making muffins, and baking her famous “Friendship Cake” at Christmas.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny Michael Moss Jr. and Angela Renee Moss, daughter, Rebecca Jane Harris, grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Harris, Dayton Michael Moss and Tollington Eve Moss, nephews, Butch and wife Sandy Cline, Lee Cline, and David Cline, mother-in-law, Frances Elizabeth Whitesides Moss, daughter-in-law, Laura Moss Boyd and niece and nephew, Tracy and James Bonner and James and Diana Boyd, as well as many cousins, great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her dear sister, Odies Faulkner Cline.
Betty’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Flint Groves Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC with the Entombment immediately following at Gaston Memorial Park. A reception will be held after the Committal Service at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2023 Flint Lane, Gastonia, NC 28054 or the Alzheimer’s Association.
