Annette graduated from Ashley High School and attended business classes at Gaston College. She spent a majority of her career as a Loan Officer at BB&T. Annette was a faithful member of Parkwood Baptist Church.
Annette and John enjoyed music, dancing and even attend the National Square Dance Convention in 1983.
They had a close circle of friends that played bridge, had an annual Christmas party, and traveled together. Her and her grandchildren would get together every summer at North Myrtle Beach for a week and she really cherished the time she could spend with them.
Annette will always be remembered as soft spoken, very kind and sweet natured.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 64 years, John “Dub” Owens.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kinney and husband Doug; son, Michael Owens and wife Sara; grandchildren, Austin Owens, Amanda Anson and husband Dalton; great grandchildren, Colton Anson and one on the way; sister, Carolyn Sosebee; and niece, Pam Sosebee Ellis.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont and Autism Society of North Carolina.
