Violet S Baker

Violet Sue Baker, age 75 of Gardendale, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. Violet was born on September 4th, 1948 to the late Lonnie and Velma Baker. She was a devoted member of The Church at Gardendale. Violet was a strong woman and true warrior throughout her life and battling her illness.

Violet had a true servants’ heart and cared for those in need. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance after many years of service and became a caretaker for those in need, not only in their homes but brought individuals into her own home to care for them. Violet loved visiting the mountains, but loved shopping even more. If you were hosting a gathering she was honored to provide the serving dishes and any décor she had.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents; Lonnie Baker and Velma Humphrey Baker; her brothers, Lonnie “LB” Baker, Jr. and Bobby Ray Baker; and her sister, Wynell “Nell” Baker Peak. Violet is survived by her sisters, Marie Fields, Barbara “Jean” Warren (Bill), and Shelby Topazi (Gerald); her brothers, William “Billy” Baker, Harold “Hank” Baker, and Johnny Baker; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Lynn Lawson officiating.
