Bob was a proud Army Veteran, having served two years stationed in Iceland. He cherished the camaraderie and experiences gained during his service. Bob enjoyed the challenge of jigsaw and crossword puzzles. He was also an avid stamp collector and found great joy in spending time with his family and his beloved cat, Dusty. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing for walleye in Wisconsin, a hobby that brought him peace, memories with his son, and fulfillment throughout his life.
In his journey through life, Bob was preceded in death by his parents and six of his eight siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeannette W. Lustro; his daughter, Michelle Morgan and her husband Edward; his son, Michael Lustro and his wife Maggie; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Lustro and his wife Danielle, Jessica Cox and her husband Chris, Eric Kitchens and his wife Tiara, Michael Lustro Jr., Melissa Lustro, and Matthew Lustro; his great-grandchildren, Riley Lustro, Caroline Cox, Olivia Lustro, Adam Lustro, Mallory Cox, Eric Kitchens Jr., and Carson Kitchens; as well as his sisters Marilyn Greenburg and Shirley Rachel.
Bob's family will hold a graveside memorial service at Alabama National Cemetery at a later date to honor and celebrate his life.
Bob will be remembered fondly for his dedication to his country, his passion for learning and hobbies, and above all, his love and devotion to his family. His kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
