Jill McFarland Sloan, age 69, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024. Born in Tarrant, Alabama, to Nina and Clifton McFarland, Jill was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Jill's greatest joy in life was being "Grams" to her three grandchildren. She was deeply devoted to her family, always finding ways to make memories. Jill's love for Elvis was well-known, and she never missed an opportunity to bring her famous cheeseball to gatherings.
Jill loved children and committed her life to raising them up in Christ through her daycares. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to instilling Christian values in those under her care left a lasting impact on so many families. Jill viewed her work as her calling - it was more than just a place for children to be looked after; it was a place where children felt loved, valued, and encouraged to grow.
Active in the communities she adored, Jill's unwavering dedication and love touched countless lives in Hayden, Tarrant, and beyond. Her vibrant spirit and genuine kindness made her a treasured member of the Hayden community. She was always ready with a smile, a helping hand, and an open heart. Jill's involvement in local events and her commitment to helping others made her an integral part of the community, and she was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jill leaves behind her sons, Cliff (Christina) Sloan and Christopher Sloan; her granddaughters Kingsley (8) and Mary Kate (7); her grandson Cash (5); and her sister Beverly Smith. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Nina McFarland.
Jill's legacy of love, community spirit, and a joyful heart will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her compassionate nature, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Jill's Life will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 19th, 2024 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel with a visitation an hour prior.
