James M. Anderton, age 85 passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Mr. Anderton served his country proudly as a veteran of the U S Marine Corp during WW II. He retired from PEMCO Industries (Hayes Aircraft) as a supervisor with more than 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Mae and Walter Lee Anderton; and his sister, Bobbie Anderton Parks. Mr. Anderton is survived by his loving family, his wife of over 68 years, Betty Abney Anderton; his two daughters, Carolyn Terry (Bryant) and Debbie Whitt (Terry); grandchildren, Jennifer James and Marcie Terry Meserole.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with visitation on Tuesday from 12 noon until service time at 2. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Rev. Steve Franklin will officiate.
