Estelle B. Parks

Estelle B. Parks was born on September 20, 1924 in Warrior, AL and passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Charlottesville, VA at the age of 89. Estelle was a member of the Beechwood Baptist Church in Mt. Olive. She was retired from the Social Security Administration and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and being close to her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Van L. Parks; parents, Willis and Lela Baldwin; her brothers, Lawson Baldwin, Albert Baldwin, and Bud Baldwin. Estelle is survived by her loving family, a son, Stephen Parks (Cheryl); her daughter, Gayle Forehand (Joe); grandchildren, Chris Forehand, Kevin Forehand, Alicia Edwards, Geoffrey Parks, Zachary Parks, Jacob Parks, Jessica Parks, Dakota Parks, and Cheyenne Parks; great-grandchildren, Holden Forehand, Sydney Forehand, Parks Forehand, Harrison Forehand, and Evelyn Gayle Forehand; two sisters, Louise Shirley and Lauretta Peper; her numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her sorely.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, at 1 PM in Mt. Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633. Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel will be directing.
