Dorothy J. England

Dorothy was an awesome cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she cherished all the time she was able to spend with her family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Pauline Johnson, her loving husband, Pierce Jackson "Zip" England, two children; daughter, Melanie "Cissy" Swann; son, Kenneth "Kenny:" Johnson, and two brothers, Chester Johnson and Roland Johnson.

Dorothy is survived by three sons, Larry Johnson, James Johnson, and Melvin Lowery and his wife, Charlotte Lowery; twelve grandchildren, Andrea Johnson, Alisha Johnson, Kenneth "Rocky" Johnson, Jr., Billy Johnson, Amanda Lowery (Dustin Stubbs), Tiffany Murphy (Adam), Taylor Black, Bailey Black, Payton Johnson, Stephen Swann, Kimberly Fryar (William), and Alex Knight; nine great grandchildren, Lanie Johnson, Brayden Lowery, Brooklyn Stubbs, Brantley Stubbs, Pierce Murphy, Hallie Murphy, Amelia Swann, Alyssa Fryar, and Jackson Fryar, many other family members and friends.

A celebration of life visition for Dorothy will be held Friday, February 21, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071.
