Donald R. Leslie

Was born June 20, 1937 and went to his heavenly home May 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Irene Leslie; brothers, Ernest, Curt, and Charles; sisters, Elizabeth Kiker, Imogene Wilson, and Betty Cain. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; his three children, Donna Smith of Buford, GA, Connie Lewis (Joe), and Arthur Leslie; four grandchildren, Crystal (Chase), Joanna Smith, Allie Lewis, and Alex Lewis; two great grandchildren, Collin and Caleb; brother, Johnnie Lessley and sister, Pauline Self; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and his faithful four legged friend, Cody. Donald served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired in 1974. He also retired from Saga Food Service and The U.S. Postal Service. Donald passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at age 78. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” -2nd Timothy 4:7.

A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Wednesday from 1 until 2 PM. There will be a graveside service at 2 PM at Oakwood Memorial Gardens with U.S. Air Force Military Honors. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Disabled Veterans Association.
