Bonnie D. Compton

BONNIE DAVIDSON COMPTON, age 90, a longtime resident of Fultondale, AL, died on August 5, 2015. She was born on April 12, 1925 in Helena, Alabama, and had resided at The Jacob’s House assisted living facility in Hayden, Alabama since late 2011. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Alford Harmon and Ola Gilbert Davidson; siblings, Hillman Davidson, Clarence W. “Hardy” Davidson, Paul L. “Pete” Davidson, Elizabeth Meyer, Minnie Clara Beasley, and Jack H. Davidson; husband, William Isom Compton; son, William Everette “Buddy” Compton; and daughter-in-law, Judy Dean Compton. Survivors include her sisters, Sue Myrick and Hazel Rochester; son, Alfred Niles Compton; granddaughters, Kimberly Curtis (Michael), Jennifer Schwartz (Ian) and Jillian Compton; and great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Campbell. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM with chapel funeral services on Sunday, August 9, at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, AL. Rev. Mike Pope and Dr. Bill Wolfe of Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Building Fund at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
