Freddy departed this life peacefully during his afternoon nap on April 22, 2024, in Bend Oregon. His passing was sudden and unexpected. Freddy lived 71 blessed years. He was a loving husband to his wife Barbara and a dedicated father to his children, Freddy, Terri, Santiago, Jennifer, Jesse, Tonya.
Freddy was born on January 6, 1953, in Juchipila, Zacatecas. He is survived by his wife, six children, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Freddy was a cherished member of the family and to the entire community. He was known for his beautiful spirit, incredible sense of humor, for his great dancing moves and his ability to make even the simplest family gathering feel like a celebration. Freddy was a die-hard fan of the Chivas. His Nephew Armando, gifted him a Chivas game in Guadalajara, Mexico, making Freddy’s dream come true.
Freddy loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. For some of us, he was a stand-in paternal figure at heart. The gym was Freddy’s place of Zen; he impressed even the strongest bodybuilders by his insane weightlifting.
Freddy was also sober for over a decade and worked very hard every day towards his sobriety following and mastering the twelve steps of ‘Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions’. He was an outstanding leader, teacher and mentor in his sobriety programs. Freddy exemplified resilience and honor to its finest.
From his incredible dancing, to riding his awesome one of a kind Harley’s, to feasting on the best oysters in town, there was nothing Freddy didn’t do with a heartfelt passion.
Freddy danced to every beat that life offered, that is what he loved to do best. Freddy’s legacy of love, laughter, and integrity will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
We are most certain that Freddy would have wanted for us to laugh and reminisce and smile together during this time.
With love and our kindest regards,
The Gonzalez Family
