Dee grew up in Los Angeles and attended Bret Hart Jr. High and John C. Fremont High School. Afterwards, she continued her education attending night school. She had also taken organ lessons from a teach that - more often than not - showed up drunk and so had just played music himself the whole time. She worked for Nut Brothers for years before she started her life-long career at Northrop Corporation in the Aircraft Division where she worked in the payroll department. She eventually helped her children find work there as well.
Dee met the love of her life, Frank, on a blind date. After dating for some time and before he had left to serve in the Korean War, they drove to Yuma, Arizona and eloped.
In life, Dee loved to go camping at Yosemite and spend time with family. She enjoyed a long Sunday drive, in which she often ended up at a distant friend's house. She also cherished her Emblem Club bus rides to SoCal's casinos where she gambled the day away and enjoyed the buffets. Among those adventures, Dee also loved crafts and sewing. She would make and give many gifts of embroidered shirts, pictures and pillows. She had many specialty sewing machines and used them up until her hands, ravaged by arthritis, could no longer hold the materials. Dee also adored her pets: Fritz (Fritzy), Dino, Pepper, Cheva, Snapper, Sammy, Timber and Shania.
Dee was always kind, supportive, meek and calm. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
Dee is survived by her children, Harry (Tim) Tierheimer (Janie) and Mari-Alice Lain (Danny); grandchildren, Amanda Pearl (Justin) and Mark Tierheimer; and great grandchildren, Savannah and Micah Pearl.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alice Freeman; her brothers, Earl and Chris (Crick) Freeman; her husband, Frank Tierheimer; and her grandchildren, Nathan and Allison Lain.
