Richard John Kuhns

Richard was a man who adored his wife and his family and was a longtime active member of St. Matthew the Apostle Church. His smile lit up every room he went in. Richard enjoyed reading newspapers and magazines, playing cards, watching the Steelers, and taking photos of places and people he loved. Many lives were touched by his caring heart and unmistakable humor and wit. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary E. Kuhns; his son Bill Rodgers; and his siblings Charles, Howard, Raymond, Joseph, Mary Ellen George, and Audrey Williams.

He is survived by his loving children, Jan Deichler, Mary Ellen Cunningham, Roberta (Roger) Massey, Rick Rodgers, Tim (Cathy Weissberg) Rodgers, and Joe (Robin) Kuhns; and his daughters-in-law Donna Rodgers and Cindy Rodgers; his 16 grandchildren; his 26 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pataskala.
