He is survived by his loving wife, Erin, and his beloved son, Jackson. He also leaves behind his devoted parents, Thomas and Susan Ryan, his sister, Alyson Ryan (Josh Lukens), his parents-in-law Christopher and Susan Hallett, sisters-in-law Janelle Hallett (Mat) and Addie Nelson (Bobby), his nieces and nephews, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his sister, Jennifer Horning (John). His family extended beyond his human relatives to his adored boxers, Barrett and Beau.
A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, he pursued his passion for aviation and became a respected pilot at Southwest Airlines. His career allowed him to blend his love for travel with his professional life, creating countless memories along the way.
Mike had a passion for life that was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He found immense joy being out on his boat or on the ski slopes with Jackson and was an avid fan of the Dave Matthews Band, attending shows around the world from The Gorge Amphitheater to Oslo, Norway, among so many others. His enthusiasm for Cleveland sports was unwavering, and he was a dedicated season ticket holder for the Cavaliers. He was also known for his appreciation of fine bourbon, sharing his passion with friends and family.
One of Mike’s favorite joys was exploring the world with his family. In the past year having traveled to South Africa, Amsterdam, Mexico, and Norway, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for new experiences.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 3:00pm - 7:00pm at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street Columbus Ohio 43215 beginning at 10:00am.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the many memories he created and the lives he touched. His legacy is one of love, humility, and a relentless pursuit of joy.
