James R. Williams, age 86, died peacefully at home on January 19, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was proceeded in death by his infant son, Stephen Douglas. Jim grew up in North Canton and attended Ohio University where he met his wife, Betty. He is survived by his wife, daughter Kathy Raible, her daughter Eliana, and his son Mark and wife Lori and their children Mitchell, Reed, and Alyssa.
Jim worked for 36 years at the Ohio Dept. of Transportation. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shriner, and Brutal Brother. Jim was a train enthusiast and enjoyed restoring historic cars. His favorite car was a 1967 Corvette Roadster. Jim was also passionate about The Buckeyes, Blue Jackets and especially enjoyed hosting great parties. He led an active life and was blessed to have a loving family and friends.
