Greta M. Emmenegger, 86, passed away peacefully at OSU Medical Center East on September 27, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born July 13, 1936, in English Harbour East, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland, Canada to the late Michael and Philomena Hackett. Preceded in death by her parents; many siblings; her Beloved Grandson, Jeremy Miller; Brother-in-Law, David Emmenegger; and Niece, Lisa McLean. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Carl “Sonny”; her children, Chris (Ken) Morris, Cindy (Steve Kaercher) Miller, Cassy (Joe) Guth, and Donny; Grandchildren, Jeff (Alana Mock) Bosworth, Lauren (Kevin) Cook, Lindsey (Zach Marshall) Guth, Courtney (Chris Kirk) Miller, Ryan (Kadie) Guth, Jennifer (Malika) Spires, Mackenzie (Justin Rodriquez) Miller, Sheila (Ryan) Kinley, and many more Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; her Loving In-Laws, Carolyn “Honey” McLean, Nancy (Bill) Curran, Danny (Mary) Emmenegger, Linda Emmenegger, Mary (Larry) Capoccia, Tim (Kathy) Emmenegger, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and numerous extended family members and friends. She devoted her life to her family and had an unwavering passion for others. At an early age, she worked in a children’s orphanage home in St. Johns, Newfoundland. She provided child-care services for over 35 years for many families. Her dedication, commitment and loyalty to her families were unsurpassed. She and her husband, lifetime member, supported and enjoyed endless activities at Marian Council #3864 Knights of Columbus where they shared and treasured many friendships. Family and friends may visit 3:00 – 7:00 pm, on Monday, October 3 at SCHOEDINGER MARGARUM NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4 at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1573 Elaine Road, with interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Father William Arnold, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Greta’s memory to the National Processing Center - Research, Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011. Memorial donations can also be made to St. Philip the Apostle Church. A special “thank-you” to Nancy Curran and Debbie Westkamp.
