Beatrice D Reese

Born: December 18th, 1941 Passed away: February 13th, 2023

Bea Reese was a current resident at Country View of Sunbury, Ohio. She spent several years of her life raising her daughters in Whitehall, Ohio with her loving husband George. Before moving to central Ohio, Bea lived in Martins Ferry, Ohio. She was a 1959 graduate of Martins Ferry High School. After high school Bea attended Ohio University where she studied accounting. Bea married George Reese on September 3rd of 1966.

Bea enjoyed many pursuits in life. She was an active member of the Girl Scouts most of her life, from childhood through college. She was a Girl Scout troop leader. She was always the “Cookie Cupboard” while Heather and Shannon were involved in Girl Scouts. Bea enjoyed square dancing and clogging with George and both of her daughters. She was an avid reader and loved sewing, quilting and crocheting. She was an active parent. With both of her daughters involved in high school band, Bea always volunteered and chaperoned for the Whitehall Ram Band. Bea was also a Red Coat Usher at home Ohio State Buckeye football games for several years.

Bea worked many jobs throughout her life. She worked at the Unemployment office, Ameriflora 92 and did book keeping and taxes for many small companies and individuals. Bea’s most important job was helping care for her grandchildren, Reese, Rachel, Riley, Clarice and Grace. They all spent significant time at Grandma Bea’s house and loved every minute of it!

Bea was an active member at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna, Ohio. She loved attending Prayer and Praise with George and rarely missed a Sunday morning service. Her and George took a mission trip to Dominica and had many fond memories from their trip. She also loved passing out her warm hugs as a church greeter.

Bea is survived by her husband of 56 years George Reese.

Daughters: Heather (Jimmy) Lilly and Shannon (John) Horsley.

Grandchildren: Reese Horsley, Rachel Lilly, Riley Horsley, Clarice Lilly and Grace Lilly

Nieces: Carrie (Jason) Pelissero, Stacia Karathanasis and Stefania Karathanasis (Scott Booth). Nephew: Gary (Chuck) Henry-Walker.

Great Niece: Allison Gates. Great Nephews: Michael and Alex Gates and Elliot (Kati) Albert.

There are many more beloved Nieces and Nephews from the Reese side of the family.

Preceded in death by Mother - Ada Walker, Brother - Gary Walker and Sister - Marcia Annette Karathanasis (Walker)

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 21st from 5pm – 7pm at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast in Gahanna, Ohio

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 1pm. Schoedinger Margarum Northeast in Gahanna, Ohio

Lunch and Fellowship following the memorial service at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna, Ohio
