Tina Lankford Herring

Tina Lankford Herring, age 48, of Owens Cross Roads, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 19, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee, of over 20 years. She is reunited with her loving parents, Billy and Marie Lankford and twin brother, Gregory Scott. She is rejoicing in heaven with many of her relatives and watching down over the ones she left behind like a guardian angel. A home going service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Jay Stewart and Cary Herring will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Herring graduated from Southside High School in 1993. She attended Jacksonville State University where she received a bachelor’s in nursing. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority as well as a Marching Ballerina during her time at JSU. She served as an OB/GYN Nurse at Henderson and Walton Women’s Center for approximately 10 years upon graduation.  

She was a devoted Christian who loved her family dearly. She spent her last 10 years caregiving for close family members that needed her the most. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and spending time with her close friends and family. Her step-daughter and nieces were her pride and joy. Tina had an empathetic heart and loved everyone she met. She always wanted to be sure everyone was happy.

Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her loving parents, Billy and Marie Lankford and twin brother Gregory Scott Lankford.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Lee Herring of Owens Cross Roads and step-daughter, Hallie Herring of Birmingham; sister, Heather (Tim) Staton of Rainbow City and nieces, McKenzie and Ava Staton; father and mother-in-law, Cary and Carol Herring of Southside; sister-in-law Heidi (Blake) Roberts, niece Chloe and nephew Tyler Roberts of Southside. Her aunts, Mary Anne Gargus of Huntsville, Joy Morrow of Alexandria, and uncles Ladale (Charlotte) Lankford of Southside and Ken Elkins of Atlanta. Her extended family includes many precious cousins, friends and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lankford, Matt Elkins, Roger VanGilder, Larry Honea, Tyler Roberts, and Gary Lewis.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Crestwood Hospital.

The family will accept friends from 1:00PM until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
