A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Collier Butler Chapel for Roy Lamar Gray, age 67, of Gadsden. Mr. Gray peacefully passed away on December 9, 2018. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
Mr. Gray was a native of Etowah County and had served our country with the Marines from 1970 until 1974. He had worked at Gulf States Steel Plant from 1988 until 2000. He enjoyed collecting Civil War and Military Memorabilia and researching the history associated.
His parents Theron Rowan Gray and Foye Mabel Gray precede him in death.
He is survived by his Daughter Jennifer Gray Slade; son in law Randall Slade; Grandchildren Autumn Jordan, Tyler Gray, Sara Strickland, and Justin Slade; sister Jessie Gray; brother Donald “Don” Gray; several nephews and cousins.
The family has requested donations to Toys for Tots in Memory of Roy rather than flowers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 5, from 10AM until the hour of service.
