She went peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. She was a life long member of Forrest Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School in the class of 1940. During her 94 years of life, she loved the lord and lead by example; She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to all that knew her. She is survived by her son Danny (Darlene) Coffelt; Daughter Suzanne Coffelt (Jim) Vest; five grandchildren Janae Coffelt (Nathan) Bryant, Wesley Coffelt, Deidre Coffelt (Johnny) Taylor, Halie Bullock, and Timothy Vest; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sister Edna Cook Strickland; sister-in-laws Mary Ruth Coffelt (Buddy) Sandlin and Jackie Coffelt. She also considered herself a mother and grandmother to many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd W. Coffelt; parents J.J. and Minnie Lee Cook; seven brothers and sisters and in-laws Leo and Frances Coffelt, several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews and one chosen daughter Elnora Bullock Green.
Funeral services provided by Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 from 3:00 pm until time the of the funeral service at 6:00pm at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Pastors Mark Gidley and Harold Epperson will be officiating.
