Margaret W. Campbell, age 97, of Gadsden, AL went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden. Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the hour of the service at the cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Campbell was a native of Cherokee County, but had resided in Gadsden for most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gadsden, a graduate of Auburn University, and a teacher at Gadsden High School for 25 years. She was a member of the Edenwood Garden Club, Gadsden Music Club, and the Auburn University Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Campbell; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Williamson of Cedar Bluff, AL.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Joe Turner of Clemson, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Margaret Campbell of Hartselle, AL; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gadsden or to the Margaret W. and William E. Campbell Endowed Scholarship, Auburn University, ATTN: Gift Processing, 317 South College Street Auburn, AL 36849.
