Lillian Christine Reaves Smith, 93, entered into heaven's gates on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. Funeral services will be on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel. Her grandsons, Michael and Matthew Barton, and the Rev. Eddie Gooch will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, T.W. Smith; her parents, John and Lizzie Reaves; in-laws, Ernest and Annie Mae Smith; sister, Becky Reaves Vinson; brother and sister-in-law Stacy and Sara Reaves; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Smith (Howard) Landers, Nina Smith Cassidy and Betty Smith (Milton) Reed.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Smith Barton and Kathy Smith Sherrill and her husband Pat Sherrill; beloved grandchildren Michael Barton and wife Natalie, Matthew Barton and wife Morgan and Kristin Barton; three precious great-grandchildren Sheppard, Faith, and Judson Barton; special brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Georgia Reaves of High Point, North Carolina; niece Jamie Daniels and nephew Kerry Reaves and other special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Smith was born on Nov. 15, 1924, in Ball Play, Alabama, and lived most of her life in Hokes Bluff, Alabama. She was a 1942 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. On May 12, 1950, she married her husband, T.W. Smith. In 1984, Mrs. Smith retired from Goodyear with over 40 years of service. During her retirement years, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Until her health prevented her attendance, Mrs. Smith was a faithful and active member of Hokes Bluff First United Methodist Church, the Goodyear Retirees Club, and Hokes Bluff Seniors and Friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Matthew Barton, Mike Cassidy, Kerry Reaves, Hershel Rodgers, and Pat Sherrill.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday.
