Leonard Scott Epps

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Collier-Butler Chapel for L. Scott Epps, 43, Southside, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. The Revs. Mike Owens and L. Dale Butler will officiate with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremations Services will direct.

Scott was a lifelong resident of Southside and graduated from Southside High School in 1987. He was a jeweler by trade. Scott was formerly the youth pastor at Riverview Baptist Church and Leatherwood Baptist Church. He was an associate pastor at Leatherwood Baptist Church. Scott was a loving husband, father and friend to many.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dianne Epps; his grandparents, Maurell and Evelyn Epps, Norman and Esther Tucker.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Stephanie Epps; daughter, Shelby Epps; and son, Luke Epps.

Pallbearers will be Mark Jinks, Andrew Rutherford, Jeff Kilgore, Ray Tucker, Cary Tucker and Jerome Thomas.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to their church family at Leatherwood Baptist Church, employees of Gadsden Water Works and the Gadsden Regional SICU nursing staff.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
