Kenneth “Kenney” Charles Tidmore, age 66 of Gadsden, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Collier- Butler Funeral Home. Billy Boatwright will officiate. The family will accept friends Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Collier- Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will be directing. Kenney graduated from Crossville High School in 1966. He later retired from Goodyear after 33 years of service. Kenney was a Reserve Deputy for the Etowah County Sheriff’s Department for over 10 years, and he was elected as the Etowah County Commissioner for District 2 in 2012. Kenney was very active in his community, and he enjoyed grilling and spending time with his family and friends.
Kenney was preceded in death by his parents; multiple siblings; and his granddaughter, Kimberly Breanne Tidmore.
Kenney is survived by his wife of 18 years, Gina Tidmore; children, Kenney Scott Tidmore, Christopher Charles Tidmore, Julie Camille (Nicholas) Moore, Regina Marie (Greg) Hopkins, Crystal Dawn (Brock) Batson, Fredrick Adam Hoffman; grandchildren, Krislyn, Caitlyn, Christopher, Terry, Haley, Cameron, Brayden, Brylee; sister, Bobbie Jones; and several other family members.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.
The family will receive flowers or donations in Kenney’s name to The American Cancer Society.
