Judy Gail McCluney

Mrs. Judy Gail (Brown) McCluney, age 76 of Gadsden passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Steve Trader will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral Home.

Judy was a 1965 graduate of Emma Sansom High School. Judy had a long career in the medical office field, with the longest being in medical records at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She then enjoyed several years in a second career working at Southeastern Warehousing in Gadsden.

She was a member of Dwight Baptist Church. Judy was a loving Mother and Grandmother who was always supportive of her children and grandchildren in all their activities and sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas “Wayne” McCluney; parents, Jack and Louise Brown; sister, Jackie Thrower; brother-in-law Glenn Thrower; brothers-in-law Lamar Sims and Ronald McCluney; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Sims and Kay Hall McCluney.

Survivors include her sons, Marc (Denise) McCluney and Michael (Samantha) McCluney; grandchildren, Campbell Landen McCluney; Baylor Reese McCluney; Luke Callan McCluney; Audrey Faith McCluney; Maren Adele McCluney; brothers, Richard (Donna) Brown and Eddie (Theresa) Brown and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matt Sims, Tim Sims, Judd McCluney, Chris Thrower, Kevin Hill, and Greg Fails.

The family extends special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the MICU at Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham Medical Center.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dwight Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
