Joe Cole, age 85, of Hokes Bluff died at a local hospital on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Joe was born May 17, 1935 in Etowah County AL. He was a retired electrician and a veteran of the US Navy during The Korean War. Joe was preceded in death by his father Joe Andy Farmer Cole and mother Epicy Herring Cole. He was the youngest of eight siblings who have all preceded him in death: Clyde Cole, Cull Cole, Azill Cole Griffin, Ollis Cole, Harmon J. Cole, Demar Cole, and Billy Cole. Joe is survived by his daughter, Derita Cole Swann and her husband, Mike Waters; son, Joseph Cole and his wife, Nancy; son, Jeff Cole and his wife, Maria; grandchildren, Eli Cole, Allison Cole Munden, Jordan Cole, Adam Cole, Ayla Cole, and London Cole; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Young’s Chapel Methodist Church at a later date to be announced. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
