Born Sept. 28, 1936 in Cherokee County, Jeanette was an active member of James Memorial Baptist Church, contributor to the city of Gadsden and a devoted family matriarch.
Jeanette was the proud business owner of Holland Clothing, where she worked to make every little girl feel like a princess and every young man feel 10 feet tall.
Jeanette loved making great food, playing rook, and caring for her large family. Jeanette will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother with an endless number of stories to share.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard "Robby" Robertson; six daughters, Donna Williams and husband Walter of Fort Worth, Connie Tallent and husband Danny of McDonough, Alice Petry and husband Bobby of Weatherford, Annette Penny and husband Charles of Columbia, Karen Rodhus and husband Marty of Columbia, Janice Prefrey and husband Gary of Columbia; 15 grandchildren, countless great-grandchildren and had just had her first great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind her brother, Clarence Coursey and wife Carolyn.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Weaver Lee Coursey and Elbert E. Lee, eight brothers, two sisters and grandson, Christopher Brian Nance.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 15 at 11 am. The Collier-Butler Funeral Service of Gadsden has been entrusted with arrangements.
