Jean Simmons

Jean Simmons, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Bruce Word will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Jean was a Registered Nurse. She loved gardening, going on mission trips to Mexico, and her grandchildren. Jean never met a stranger and loved life fully.

Mrs. Simmons is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Simmons; parents, Nelson and Lela Robertson; father and mother in-law, Frank and Bulah Simmons; son in-law, John Ashley; and brother in-law, Charles (Shirley) Simmons.

She is survived by her son, Lee (Stacy) Simmons; daughter, Kathy Ashley; grandchildren, Fisher (Destini) Simmons, Jaylen Simmons, Misti (Ben) Ragan, and Dawson (Briana Heard) Ashley; great grandchildren, Hattie Simmons, Anna Simmons, and Levi Ragan; brother, Kenny (Pam) Robertson, and Tom (Dianne) Robertson; nephews, Zack Robertson, and Eric (Karen) Simmons.

Pallbearers will be Lee Simmons, Fisher Simmons, Jaylen Simmons, Dawson Ashley, Kenny Robertson, Zack Robertson, and Tom Robertson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Gadsden Healthcare, and Eric Simmons.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at ProHealth Hospice, and Bruce Word.

The family will accept friends from 1:00PM until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Sunday.
