passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 2pm at Collier-Butler Chapel.
Bro. Gary Rivers, Bro. Charles Smith,
& Bro. Bill Harbison will officiate.
Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.

Janie loved life. She loved visiting with family and friends., especially the class of
1954 at Gadsden High School, the class reunions and the Golden Tiger Reunions. She loved
singing from the time she was old enough to sing. Singing from the tree tops; literally, she
climbed the trees in her neighborhood and sang “to the top of her lungs.” Neighbors would hear
her outside singing and would look up in the trees and there she would be, she loved singing in
the choir at the church, many weddings, city-wide musicals, and the Goodyear chorus. She was a
long-time member of East Gadsden Baptist Church, and current member of MeadowBrook
Baptist Church.
Janie was preceded in death by husband Rob Copeland;
parents, former Gadsden Mayor Roy L. Wallace Sr. and Ruth Hannah Marker Wallace;
brother Johnny
Wallace and sister Mary Ruth Albright;
step-granddaughter Allison Copeland Kraig. She is
survived by son, Gary Copeland (Myra), daughters, Deanna Copeland Jennings (JD), Ava
Copeland Berry (Jeff), step-son, Ronnie Copeland (JoAnn). Grandchildren, Maria Copeland,
Lauren Phillips (Eric), Alaina Abernathy (Kevin), Kali Copeland (Jonathan), Rachel Kisor
(Clint), Julie Hood (Jay), Eddie Parker, step-grandson Jeff Copeland. Many great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandson. Brother, Roy L. Wallace Jr. (Mary Ann), Boyce, VA. Brother-inlaw,
Leon Albright; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Wallace, Las Cruces, NM. Many nieces and
nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Abernathy, Jeff Berry, Gary Copeland, Jonathan Copeland,
Clint Kisor, and Eric Phillips.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leon Albright, Amedisys Hospice, Glenn Brewer and
staff of Cherry Creek Village, Johnny Floyd, JD Jennings, Dr. Ghanshyam Patel, Tom and Hoang
Sevarit of Nail Today and Glenn and Shirley Thompson.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, November 12, 2018 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service. There will be no graveside service.
