Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for James Lee ”Jim” Hardin, age 68, of Hokes Bluff, who died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. The Rev. Bobby Hooper and Rev. Bruce Jenkins will officiate with burial to follow at Young’s Chapel Methodist Church, Piedmont, Alabama. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Jim Hardin was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was a resident of Etowah County for the past 45 years. He was a member of Young’s Chapel Methodist Church and their Young Married Sunday School Class. James retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie Bell Dotson Hardin and Crawford Hardin; sisters, Laura Mae Hardin and Christine Hardin Akers; brothers, Aldie Hardin, George Hardin and Hassell Hardin.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Jenkins Hardin; daughter, Amanda Schafner (Kenneth Wesley) of Birmingham, AL; sons, Timothy Lee Hardin (Christie Davis) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Eric Wayne Hardin (Jerria Cox) of Reese City, AL and Mickey Todd (Brandy Studdard) Hardin of Hokes Bluff; grandchildren, Meagan Grace Hardin and Tracy Kyle Hardin of Hokes Bluff; sisters, Molly Darlene Hardin (Daniel A. Elswick) of Grundy, Virginia and Emma Hardin Carroll, Defiance, Ohio; 14 nieces and 10 nephews.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Hardin, Eric Hardin, Mickey Todd Hardin, Kyle Hardin, Wes Schafner and Wayne Womack.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler.
