George Edward Shultz, age 94, of Gadsden, passed away on Friday, June 11th, 2021. He was the son of William Burt and Marjorie Matthews Shultz. He grew up and raised his family in his beloved Ohatchee, AL and retired from Anniston Army Depot. He was a longtime member of MeadowBrook Church.
Mr. Shultz was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Hurst Shultz; his two brothers, Charles and Billy Shultz; and his two sisters, Virginia Cole and Doris Shultz.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Shultz; son, Tim (Jan) Shultz; daughter, Connie Guthrie; grandchildren, Bo Guthrie and Avera Guthrie; and four step grandchildren, Kevin (Alicean) Harwood, Heather (Matthew) Kell, Holly (Zack) Rohring, and Chase (Abby) Harwood.
There will be a graveside service at Oak Bowery Cemetery in Ohatchee on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Randy Gunter and Mike Niemi. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made in George’s memory to the MeadowBrook Church Building Fund.
The family extends many thanks to the staff of Gadsden Health and Rehab for their excellent care and kindness during this difficult time.
