It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Frances "Ann" Medlin, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother after a prolonged illness. She was born July 31, 1943, in Crudup, Alabama. She passed away on November 5, 2022 at the age of 79.
She is preceded in death by her father Homer Cagle Young, her mother Frances Irene Young, her only sister Linda Kay Mayo, brother Donald Edward Young, brother Kenneth James Young, her only son Roland Mark Medlin and her loving daughter Marsha Ann Byers.
She is now resting in the arms of Jesus leaving behind her loving husband of 61 years, Roland Arthur Medlin, daughter Tammy Lynn Medlin (Eric Almond) grandchildren Brandon Byers (Andrea Brandon), Brittany Byers (Justin McNair), Alexis Carter and Braden Almond. Great-grandchildren Cason Dugger, Emma Morgan, Lenna Grace Harper McNair, and Axton Patterson. She had numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Etowah High School in 1962. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Everyone that met her loved her. She would make you feel welcome and at home while you enjoyed her wonderful meals. She never said goodbye without telling you she loved you. She was a very special lady.
The service will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Reverend Billy Boatwright will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Byers, Eric Almond, Jay Hare, Jason Hare and friends of the family. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Old Harmony Cemetery on Rainbow Drive.
