Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Danny Carr, 64, of Southside who passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Southside.

Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Danny was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired Boilermaker of 33 years and served as the president of the Boilermakers Local 108 for six years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Sommers, grandmother, Myrtis Carr and grandfather, Claude Carr.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann Carr; children, Carmen Carr, April Green Davis and Jon Green; grandchildren, Jay Green, Trent Davis, Ethan Green, Elly Green, Kruize Carr, Tyson Davis and Eli Green, Brother: Tommie Carr (Peggy), Sisters: Nila James (Vance), Lotus Paige,

Teena Enriquez (Mario) and Wanita Sapp (Carroll); step-father, Bill Sommers; special aunt, Betty Hammett and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jay Green, Trent Davis, Tommy Davis, Joshua Kidd, Jon Green, Pace Armstrong, Tommie Ray Carr and Ted Garrard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ben Benefield, Tommie Carr, James Hoops, Jason Hicks, Bill Sommers, Larry White, Frank Ledford, Mike Dryer, Randy Campbell, Ronnie Hammett, Daniel Wood, Tony Wood, Brad Chancey, Robert Wood, David Wood, Ottie Noble, Larry Carnes and Boiler makers Local 108 Birmingham AL

The family will accept flowers for the service.

A special thanks is extended to Scott Kilgore, Southside Police and Fire Department, A-Med Ambulance Service and the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 12 pm until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
