Daniel "Donut" Benton Stewart Sr.

Daniel "Donut" Benton Stewart Sr., age 77, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. Donut is preceded in death by his parents Inez Tidwell Miller (Lon Miller) and William Dan Stewart; his grandparents, Osmond and Ocie Stewart. Donut is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Faye Stewart; Children, Dan Stewart Jr (Suzi) and Ashlee Hammett (Courtney); grandchildren, Drake Stewart (Abby), Cami Stewart, Elijah Hammett and Emma Hammett. Donut is also survived by his sister, Debra Chumley; Neice, Kelli Lowman and nephews, Matthew Chumley and Shane Stephens. Donut retired from Gulf State Steel after 32 years in the BOF and Caster. Donut was a member of the Riverbend Baptist Church for 43 years. He had a passion for muscle cars, hunting, fishing and enjoyed being a member of the Masonic Lodge of Southside. He was known by "PawPaw" by his grandchildren and many of his neighbors.

A visitation for Donut will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, 824 Rainbow Drive, P.O. Box 460, Gadsden, Alabama 35901. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 824 Rainbow Drive, P.O. Box 460, Gadsden, Alabama 35901. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Rainbow Memorial Gardens, 1440 W Grand Ave, Gadsden, Alabama 35904.
